So, you’re looking for something to do this weekend? Well, keep yourself out of trouble, grab your camera and get creative. Over at DPS there is this great list of projects you can start working on. Of course, it’s just a partial list, so keep on the lookout for ideas that interest you or work into your weekend plan. Hey, you can even create your own project and post it in the comments so we can all participate!

Tomorrow I am planning on going to Providence, RI’s Waterfire event. It’ll be a great opportunity to work on the “Just a Second” project going on over at Neil Creek’s site.

“A little while back, Alasdair Townsend, one of the makers of Portrait Professional, sent [Udi] a copy of Portrait Professional 8 to play with. Apart from the great fun that [he] had with the software, Alasdair also suggested to give three copies of the studio high end version of Portrait Professional 8 (Valued at $239.95 USD) as contest prizes.”

[via DIYPhotography.net]

I downloaded the trial version of Portrait Professional, and it’s super simple to use and produces pretty cool results.

Here are my contest submissions:
My B&W submision:

My color submission:

my tip:
I like to capture kids (but it works the same for adults) at really natural moments for personally meaningful images. So, I join them in their environment where they are most comfortable and take tons of photos of them playing with their favorite toy, making their typical cute faces, capturing the look of wonder when investigating…

Thanks for the cool opportunity, Udi!
