So, a contact of mine, Brian Auer, recently mentioned JPG magazine in his blog, Epic Edits. So I, too, checked it out and signed up. If you’re an aspiring photographer, I suggest you head on over, sign up, participate in this community, and submit your photos to themes to, hopefully, see yourself in print!

Photography Projects

So, you’re looking for something to do this weekend? Well, keep yourself out of trouble, grab your camera and get creative. Over at DPS there is this great list of projects you can start working on. Of course, it’s just a partial list, so keep on the lookout for ideas that interest you or work into your weekend plan. Hey, you can even create your own project and post it in the comments so we can all participate!

Tomorrow I am planning on going to Providence, RI’s Waterfire event. It’ll be a great opportunity to work on the “Just a Second” project going on over at Neil Creek’s site.

DPS Assignment winner :)

DPS assignment: natural framing
“The goal was to use frames within the picture to help isolate the subject and draw your eye to it.”

Our winner this week was hlkljgk for her picture of her smiling daughter on a swing. The framing of the swing not only gave it a context but also brought the focus right to her smiling face.
